Rumor: Mega Man X DiVE coming to Nintendo Switch?

Fans of the iconic Blue Bomber - and perhaps more specifically, fans of the Mega Man X series - may be excited to know that the latest spin-off of the series, Mega Man X DiVE, may be heading to Nintendo Switch.

For those who don't know, Mega Man X DiVE is a gacha game released for Android and iOS on March 2020 in Japan, and August 16, 2021 for US. Although billed as a spin-off of Mega Man X, the game incorporates characters from the other installments of the series, such as the original Mega Man and Roll from the classic Mega Man games, MegaMan.EXE - and his operator Lan - from Mega Man Battle Network, and MegaMan Volnutt from Mega Man Legends.

Anyway, according to the Mega Man fansite, Rockman Corner, when fans datamined the latest update for the game, they have spotted a few strings of code that refer to Nintendo's line of amiibo.

"w_KEY": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE",
"w_CHT": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE",
"w_JP": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE",
"w_ENG": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE",
"w_THA": "NS_AMIIBO_NO_USE"
},
{
"w_KEY": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT",
"w_CHT": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT",
"w_JP": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT",
"w_ENG": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT",
"w_THA": "NS_FILESYSTEM_NOT_SUPPORT"
},
{
"w_KEY": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY",
"w_CHT": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY",
"w_JP": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY",
"w_ENG": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY",
"w_THA": "NS_RESOURCE_ONLY"

This statement would heavily suggest that a Nintendo Switch port is in the works. As for amiibo compatibility, the game may not have any due to the mention of "NO_USE" and "NOT_SUPPORT", though there could be the slight possibility that they haven't programmed it in yet.

Regardless, keep in mind that nothing is set in stone yet. That being said, another incident similar to this clued in fans that a Steam port of the game was in the works, and a few months later it would end up being proven true, so who knows?
