SpongeBob's moveset showcased in a video for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl!

Yesterday, the official Gamemill YouTube channel uploaded a video that shows off all of SpongeBob's moves in explicit detail

The person hosting the video is Markus Villalobos, developer at Fair Play Labs. He reveals that SpongeBob is intended to be a beginner character. He has no real strengths, but he has no weaknesses either, allowing SpongeBob to reasonably take on just about everyone.

After showing off all of SpongeBob's moves, Markus then plays a few rounds to show off some ideas and combos players can expect to use.

Notably, a few weeks ago on the official Twitter page, they posted an image of SpongeBob and his moveset. They then showed Patrick's moveset two days later, followed by Sandy four days later. It is currently unknown if Gamemill Entertainment is planning on doing more showcase videos for the other characters

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is planned to be released on October 5th, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC.

Gameplay for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl revealed!

Today on IGN, four videos were released, one showing off the game's mechanics, while the other three show off some in-game fights.

First, the gameplay explanation, featuring SpongeBob and his pal Patrick! As you can expect with a game inspired by Super Smash Bros., the main objective is to ring out your opponent. Each character has a damage percentage, and as they take hits, the percentage increases. The higher it is, the farther they fly!

The video also explain Light attacks (weak moves that help increase damage on your foes) Strong attacks (which will send a foe flying) and Special attacks (unique to each fighter). Each one has three versions: middle, up, and down. Additionally, if two different Strong attacks hit each other, one will take priority over the other. Down beats Middle, and will cause the opponent to stagger. Middle beats Up, and causes the opponent to turn around. Up beats Down, and causes the opponent to spin out.

Grabs can also be performed not only on the ground, but in the air as well! You can even grab an opponent's projectile attack and throw it back at them! Speaking of which, Strong attacks can reflect projectiles, and each reflect will make the projectile get stronger and faster up to a certain point.

Other mechanics of the game brought up are fighters being able to strafe  (in which the character will always face a certain direction if you hold the left trigger button on certain controllers) and Air Dashing, a move that boosts you in a certain direction, but you can only perform it once per time your in the air. Performing an Air Dash towards the ground will allow your character to perform a Wave Dash, allowing them to quickly slide on the ground and quickly follow up with an attack.

There were also some gameplay footage shown off! First is a fight between SpongeBob, Leonardo, April O' Neil, and Patrick on the Air Temple Stage from Avatar: The Last Airbender!

Next, CatDog get into a fierce battle with Lucy Loud on the Jellyfish Fields stage from SpongeBob SquarePants!

And finally, April O'Neil Vs. Nigel Thornberry on the Jellyfish Fields stage!

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is planned to be released on October 5th. Are you looking forward to getting it? Tell us in the comments below!

Two new fighters for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will be revealed on August 26th!

Ludosity has posted a new trailer on their YouTube Channel, revealing that two new characters are going to be announced for the game at the Future Games Show Gamescom broadcast, which will take place later this week on 26th August.

Notably, Ludosity has deleted the trailer for unknown reasons, but one fan managed to snag it and re-upload it to their channel! (Thanks, ManMan!)

UPDATE: Ludosity has re-uploaded the official trailer to their YouTube, while ManMan privated his.

An official Twitter page was also created for the game, which revealed a new piece of artwork as its header image.

It's possible that the two characters may be from the accidental box art leak that happened during the game's initial reveal, but it could also be someone who isn't showing up on the box art. Regardless, who do you think it will be? Tell us your thoughts below!

Get ready to rumble in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl!

Announced a few weeks ago on July 13, 2021, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is an upcoming game that stars various Nicktoons fighting against one another, such as SpongeBob SquarePants from the series that has the same name, Lincoln Loud from The Loud House, Reptar from Rugrats, and Zim from Invader Zim!

From what was shown in the trailer, game play is pretty similar to the Super Smash Bros. series. You pick a character and try to KO your opponent by trying to fling them offstage. The higher their damage is, the farther they'll fly away.

The developers behind the game are Ludocity, who are well-known for making the Smash Bros.-like game, Slap City, so this game should be in some good hands.

Confirmed playable characters so far are as follows

From SpongeBob SquarePants: SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, and Sandy Cheeks.

From Rugrats: Reptar

From The Ren & Stimpy Show: Powdered Toast Man

From Aaahh!!! Real Monsters: Oblina

From Hey Arnold!: Helga Pataki

From The Wild Thornberrys: Nigel Thornberry

From Invader ZiM: Zim (with GIR and Minimoose assisting him)

From Danny Phantom: Danny Fenton

From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Leonardo and Michelangelo

From The Loud House: Lincoln Loud and Lucy Loud

More characters will be revealed later. From a leaked boxart, it seems that Ren & Stimpy from The Ren & Stimpy Show, Catdog from Catdog, Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Korra from The Legend of Korra will also join the battle.

One notable character that people are hoping for is Hugh Neutron from The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, due to him gaining internet fame throughout the years. His voice actor, Mark DeCarlo, is also in support of Hugh getting into the game. as revealed in a tweet. (In fact, Hugh Neutron was even trending on Twitter following the game's announcement.)

Though speaking of voice actors, Richard Horvitz, voice of Invader Zim, has revealed that no one from Ludocity has approached him - or any of the other voice actors for that matter - for recording. This suggests that the game won't have voice acting, similar to previous entries Nicktoons Kart Racing and Nicktoons Kart Racing 2: Grand Prix. There's a possibility this could be added in later, but one shouldn't hold their breath.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will be released sometime in Fall 2021, and will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, XBox Series X/S, and XBox One. You can pre-order the game here.

Any character you're hoping will make it in? Write your thoughts down in the comments below! Personally, this writer is hoping that Dib Membrane from Invader Zim, Otis from Back at the Barnyard, and Snap from Chalkzone will make it in; as well Raphael, Donatello, and Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Perhaps even Garfield, Optimus Prime, and Megatron, since their series - Garfield for the former and Transformers for the latter two - are getting new shows on Nickelodeon.
